Ketton rail bridge hit again

UPDATE at 5pm:

The bridge has only suffered superficial damage meaning that the roads and rail can remain open.

Good news! Only superficial damage this time so the road and railway are back open as usual.

Despite only being fully open since Wednesday the 23rd of November 2022, Ketton rail bridge has once again been hit by a lorry.

Today, Wednesday the 30th of November, Foster's rail bridge in Ketton has once again been hit by a lorry - only one week after it was reopened.

This follows a lorry strike that took place only weeks ago, on the 5th of November 2022. Find out more here.

It appears that this time, the vehicle did not stop.

Response teams are on their way, but information on the incident is limited.

For now, no trains will be able to cross the bridge. Delays should be expected this evening.
