A local pub has announced that it will see a change in opening hours.

The Plough, a pet and family-friendly pub in the heart of Greetham, has announced that its opening hours will be changing for the winter months.

Following staff sickness, Landlord Peter, has made the tough decision to close The Plough every Wednesday throughout the winter.

Pete explained: "I don’t want to close our doors, but the lovely Donna had a fall and I have been doing seven days a week in the kitchen. It’s been too hard on the whole team, and I feel that it's unfair for them. We’re a small team in the winter, and it looks like Donna will be off for some time. I don’t want to replace her, so have decided to close on Wednesdays.

"Here at The Plough, we are as much about the team as the customers, which is how we can continue to provide great service. This is not a move taken lightly, and we wanted to make it clear that we are not here to penny pinch, we just want to look after the team so that they can continue looking after you!"

As such, tonight, 15 November, will see the last Wednesday Bingo Night at The Plough.

The team have made the decision to keep Monday's ever-popular Giant Yorkshire Pudding Night, Tuesday's Pie Night, Thursday Curry Club, Fishy Friday and weekend deals. As such, Burger Night will be on the back burner for a while.

From 22 November, The Plough will be closed every Wednesday for the foreseeable future - but fear not, as Bingo will still take place on the first and third Monday of the month. 

The team will continue to host regular music events and more, so be sure to keep The Plough on your radar as they continue to pack a punch - and pour a cracking pint - six nights a week.
