A Ketton-based gardening business has won a regional award for landscaping.

Stamford and Rutland Garden Maintenance is a family business run by Jon Wheatley and his wife Angela, based in Rutland.

The business has won Best Landscaping Business in the East Midlands from My Local Awards.

The award is voted on by the pubic and is based on the businesses work on customer's garden, rather than previous bronze awards the business has won for show gardens.

Jon Wheatley, Director and Owner, said: 'I never thought five years ago when I started the business, I'd be up for any awards, never mind winning on.

'I just wanted to do what I love doing and helping other people with their outdoor spaces.'

The company is also in the running for the Best Small UK Landscaping Business with the Small Business Awards, which will be announced later in the year.
