A local hospice has put out a call for local photographers who can support the production of their 2025 calendar.

Dove Cottage, a local day care hospice offering high quality palliative day care to people in Leicestershire and Rutland.

Dove Cottage Day Hospice has been caring for adults since 1996. All of the care services are provided free of charge, which is why fundraisers are key in the ongoing success of the charity.

A spokesperson said: "It costs over £750,000 each year to keep our doors open however there are lots of ways that you can get involved and support the work of the hospice, other than donating financially. Having a coffee in our canal-side tea room, donating goods to sell in our charity shops or donating a few hours of your time to volunteer at an event - we rely heavily on the support of the local community to run our services."

The upcoming calendar will support the costs of running the day care centre.

The team took to social media in an appeal for support: "Are you a budding photographer? Do you have some amazing photos you'd like to share? We need your help!

"Dove Cottage is looking for a range of photographs to be included in their 2025 calendar.

"The theme will be 'Wildlife in the Vale' and we are welcoming any images depicting local flora and fauna.

"The final calendar will be available for sale in the autumn via our hospice and four charity shops. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, 100% of profits raised from the calendar goes directly to fund the services of the hospice."
