A road will close for nine nights in August, a council has announced.
Barleythorpe Road near the centre of Oakham is due to be resurfaced, according to Rutland County Council, forcing temporary overnight closures from August 19 to August 28.
Between 7pm and 5am, access will be limited to emergency services and residents living within the closed area, where dedicated site staff will be on hand to help residents "access properties and navigate the closure". A signed diversion route will be set up to assist motorists navigate around the closed road.
Cllr Oliver Hemsley, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: "These works form part of our ongoing investment programme to improve Rutland's roads and ensure they remain safe and resilient for everyone who uses them.
"Carrying out the resurfacing overnight allows us to complete the work safely and efficiently, while reducing disruption during the day. We appreciate that some disruption is unavoidable and would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation while these essential improvements are carried out."
The scheduled resurfacing of Barleythorpe Road follows other road works around Oakham, including renovations on Lands' End Way and Braunston Road.
Residents can submit questions concerning the road works to representatives of the council's highways team at a public drop-in session on August 12. The drop in is slated to begin at 10am, taking place at the council's Catmose House offices.
