Local lady, Tracey Dene Powell is celebrating the upcoming release of her book of poetry exposing and tackling 'raw' grief.

Tracey Dene Powell's book titled 'My Little Book of Grief: A Personal Collection of Poetry' will be released on the 18th of October, but is already available for pre-order on Amazon.

Tracey said: "This is a very proud moment for me. My book is an opportunity for me to reach out and help those struggling with their own grief... a book that is collection of my personal poems through a timeline during my own journey... a book exposing raw grief... but also a book of important hope.

"I would dearly like my book to help as many people as possible and so please share this post if you can. It is only by raising awareness of its existence that I will be able to do this."

Tracey's collection is available on Amazon now.

This book has, in part, been inspired by the loss of Tracey's dear friend and popular Langham school teacher, Bob Sheridan, who passed away in December 2020.

Upon Bob's passing, Tracey vowed that she would publish his collection of nature notes to share his legacy and raise money for the charity that helped elongate Bob's life, The Air Ambulance.

Copies of Bob's book, titled 'Notes from a Field and a Garden', were collected from the printers in August 2021. When it was first released, Tracey decided to give free copies to every child at Langham School to help continue Bob's legacy of inspiration and enthusiasm.

Tracey added: "When Covid hit in 2020 I spent many afternoons with Bob as part of his caring bubble, which fermented into a deep and profound friendship. We enjoyed writing and music together, and we became special confidantes. He became not only the dearest friend I could wish for, but also my mentor and father figure. I will be forever grateful for what we had."

On Thursday the 3rd of March 2022, Tracey handed £360 raised through sales of his book over to Rutland and Leicestershire Air Ambulance in Bob's memory.

This experience gave Tracey valuable insight into the publishing world, and has helped her produce her own book of poems, set to be published by BC Books LLC on the 18th of October 2022.

Having discovered Tracey's grief poems in early 2022, American publisher, Brenda Cortez of BC Books LLC, was keen to work with Tracey to produce the book, `My Little Book of Grief'.

Unlike any other grief therapy book available, these poems were never intended to be published, and it was only when Brenda saw the huge potential of healing that Tracey's words could have for others that the work was undertaken.

Cortez said: "I was grieving from the recent loss of my father, so Tracey's words left me with hope in my heart and reassurance I wasn't alone. I knew her heartfelt poetry could do the same for so many others who have lost a loved one and spiraled from despair."

My Little Book of Grief: A Personal Collection of Poems is available on Amazon.
