Rutland County Museum are playing host to an exhibition featuring the work of Rutland Adult Learners from the Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service 2022 cohort, and you are welcome to come and enjoy the creations on display.

Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service's (RALSS) 2022 Arts and Ceramics Exhibition will open on Saturday the 15th of October at Rutland County Museum.

The exhibition will showcase work produced by RALSS' learners and staff over the last three years, including pottery, watercolour, drawing and fused glass. Some of RALSS' learners have gone on to exhibit more widely, set up their own businesses or even sell their work elsewhere, and many of the pieces on display will be available to purchase.

You can visit the exhibition on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10am to 4pm, between the 15th of October and the 12th of November 2022 at Rutland County Museum. Catmos Street, Oakham LE15 6HW.

Working in partnership with Stamford College, Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service(RALSS") offers a range of learning opportunities aiming to upskill and boost productivity, pay, jobs and living standards, delivered through our well-equipped building on the outskirts of Oakham.

Adults can study English and Maths from Basic Skills to GCSE, Accounting and Bookkeeping qualifications and online Level 2 Certificates in a variety of subjects. RALSS also hosts Stamford College's local apprenticeship provision.

As part of RALSS' wellbeing offer to encourage a sense of community, local pride and belonging, adults can join leisure courses in Pottery, Drawing, Fused Glass, Watercolour, Digital Photography, Italian, Spanish and more. The service can also help with creating or updating CVs and job search skills for free.

Rutland County Council's Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr David Wilby, said: "Developing learning and skills for all ages is so important, therefore it is great to see the wide range of help, qualifications and courses that RALSS offers to adults in Rutland.

"This exhibition highlights that adult learning isn't just about qualifications and I look forward to seeing the magnificent examples of what the learners and staff have produced. I hope that many Rutlanders and their friends take this opportunity to come along and enjoy our exhibition and discover first-hand what our Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service has to offer."

RALSS offers concessions to people who claim benefits or on low household income, and many of our qualifications are free to those who are eligible. For more information, visit: www.ralss.org.uk or call: 01572 758122

Some of RALSS' learners displaying their work at the Rutland County Museum exhibition have gone on to exhibit more widely, set up their own businesses or even sell their work elsewhere, and many of the pieces on display will be available to purchase.

Congratulations to all involved.
