Local shops participate in Yarnstravganza event kicking off today

After the success of last year's Yarnstravaganza, the UK Hand Knitting Association (UKHKA) have brought it back for its second year.

As such, local shops will be participating in the nationwide event.

Both Oakham's Darn Knit and Wool Zone will be joining the cause this year, as well as the Bath and Yarn Emporium in Melton Mowbray.

Earlier this month, Wool Zone were already jumping on the community crafting train by decorating the street outside the shop with an array of crocheted flowers.

Now, starting today, Saturday 30 September, and running until Saturday 7 October, Wool Zone and Darn Knit will be taking part, doing fun things, offering discounts or deals, running workshops or raffles - amongst other crafty activities.

Wool Zone can be found at 18 Church Street, and Darn Knit can be found at 1A Mill Street.
