Man arrested after emergency worker was assaulted in Oakham

A man has been arrested and charged with assaulting an emergency worker.

Oakham Police said yesterday the arrest followed reports of suspicious act the Boots in Oakham at 2am in the morning.

The 20-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Oakham Police yesterday said the man still remains in custody and enquiries continue.

Oakham Police also report a van was stolen from Spinney Hill #Oakham earlier yesterday and recovered in the Alberta Park estate in Oakham.

A silver Toyota type vehicle was seen acting suspiciously in the area.
