A local couple have tied the knot today, Sunday 28 May.

Lindsay Taylor, Landlady at Oakham's ever-popular sports bar, The Crown Tavern, has married her long-term partner, Ian Bryers.

The duo tied the knot today at Oakham Castle, a popular tourist spot and wedding venue, surrounded by family and friends.

Lindsay and Ian met at The Crown over a decade ago, and romance quickly blossomed.

Now, after a long wait, they have made it official, saying: "This has been a long time coming - I just can't believe we organised it on one of the busiest sporting days of the season!

"We are delighted to be celebrating with the many special people in our lives. Thank you to them, and our loyal customers, for the support."

Lindsay will be taking a well-earned week off following their big day, but The Crown Tavern, affectionally known as The Tav, will be open as usual with Lindsay's dedicated team covering her absence.

If you want to join the pair for a celebratory drink in the sports bar, or enjoy a range of live local, national and international sporting events, the pair will be back at The Tav from Tuesday 6 June.
