In an official opening ceremony MP for Rutland and Stamford Alicia Kearns and Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Sarah Furness cut the ribbon to open Support and Communications new centre in Oakham.

The new centre in Tungsten Park, Oakham, will be the new home of organisation Support and Communications, who offer a day service for adults with learning difficulties.

The opening day was attended by service users, families, healthcare professionals and members of the public out to support and learn more about the new service.

Support and Communication's work focusses on independence, building confidence and personal development for adults with disabilities, including running a wide range of person-centred activities.

"Thank you to Deb and her team at Support and Connections for all their hard work to make this a reality, and to Mowbray Workplace Solutions for partnering with Support and Connections and hosting them in an amazing venue."
