Oakham-based author Laz Newton has published her debut novel, a perverse and dark comedy called 'Finch's Arms.'
Originally from Basildon in Essex, Laz lives in Oakham with her partner Tim and two rescue border collies.
Her debut novel, which has been described as a 'Kafka-esque' comedy, will launch on Monday 20th October at an event at The Angel Microbrewery in Nottingham from 6pm.

The Finch's Arms is an absurd dark comedy about Danny Finch, a middle-aged man stuck in a dead-end job, when his life changes one day when he discovers he has grown a second pair of arms.
Things start to unravel for Danny when he witnesses something he shouldn't have and is left grappling with his conscience while being drawn deeper into the alluring world of money and celebrity.
'Finch's Arms' is being published by Burton Mayers Books, released on 24th October and is currently available to pre-order on Amazon.
Laz has already begun work on her second novel, this time a thriller. You can keep up to date with her work, read her short stories and find out more by visiting her website.
