Oakham is due snow on and off throughout the day today, the 31st of March 2022.

Although the main roads are predicted to remain wet, snow has been falling since approximately 6:15am this morning and is already beginning to settle on the minor roads.

More snow has been forecast, with the potential for it to turn to rain this afternoon.

While rain may clear the snow, cold temperatures overnight could turn the water to ice ready for April the 1st - but this is no April Fools' Day prank!

Stay safe on the roads and don't forget to pack the essentials if you need to drive, such as a blanket, food, gloves and an extra coat, just in case.
