Oakham: Oakham set to be hotter than Barcelona this week

Oakham is set for some generous spring temperatures this week, with temperatures climbing above those predicted in Barcelona.

Spring is definitely on the way this week in Oakham, and while the spring flowers are in full bloom in the local park, Cutts Close, temperatures have not yet reflected that.

However this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, temperatures are expected to hit 18 degrees celsius, with Saturday and Sunday remaining comfortable at 16 and 17 degrees.

Meanwhile, tropical destinations like Barcelona and Sicily are due drizzle and highs of 15 degrees and, while Oakham is not quite the Riviera, it will certainly be nice for residents to feel the warmth of the sun this weekend - particularly with many Mother's Day celebrations taking place in town on Sunday.

Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa are hosting a Mother's Day meal in their newly refurbished Blossoms restaurant while pubs closer to the heart of Oakham are also holding live music lunches and dinners.

Enjoy the spring sunshine!
