Following a successful event this year, Oakham Town Council have confirmed that Oakham Pride 2023 will be going ahead on 17 June at Cutts Close, Oakham.

This year, on June 25 2022, Oakham Pride saw over 500 people flock to Cutts Close and Oakham Castle and join in with the celebrations.

This was the first event of its kind in Oakham, and was well supported, ensuring that it certainly won't be the last.

The Castle was decorated and played host to a range of local stalls.

Rutland County Council Leader Lucy Stephenson attended the event and could be found litter picking with organisers and attendees at the end of the day.

Cllr Stephenson said: "What a day, Rutland's first ever Pride! It's so incredibly important that the County Council is supporting our LGBTQ+ community."

With this council and community support, Oakham Pride is set to become an annual event.

The LGBTQ+ community and allies made the day special.

Will you be joining the celebrations on 17 June 2023?
