Rutland Garden Centre is staging a two-day arts, craft and enterprise fair this weekend.

The business in Ashwell is hosting the event as part of its Small Business Summer initiative supporting local independent businesses.

Based outdoors, but under the canopy at the Garden Centre, over 50 local artists, artisans, and producers will be showcasing their wares and products from 10am to 4pm on this Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 1.

Brand Ambassador for Rutland Garden Village, Miranda Jones, said: "The Fair is the culmination of months of work reaching out to local businesses.

"Many of these artists and artisans have had very few opportunities to exhibit their work and meet face to face with the buying public over the course of the last 18 months so this is an important event for them.

"There are also people coming who have started new businesses during lockdown, or who have been made redundant and turned their hobbies into a new business. We really hope that people come down and see first hand the creativity, resilience, and resourcefulness of local people."

Entry is free on both days. The Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness, will open the Fair at 10.30 am on Saturday 31st July. There will be a cold drink & ice-cream station, and the Garden Village Café will be open throughout.
