A woman who was stabbed in Oakham remains in a 'critical but stable' condition.

As Nub News previously reported Robert Truscott, 47, of Lowther Close, Langham, Oakham, has been charged with attempted murder, Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm and possession of a bladed article.

He was remanded to appear before Leicester Magistrates' Court last weekend.

Leicestershire Police have yet to identify the victim.

A police spokesman told Nub News: "The victim remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition."

However, her brother Charles Wolfenden has been regularly sharing updates on Facebook about his sister Emma Wolfenden.

In a post yesterday, Charles said: "Emma is still very poorly. They have reduced her sedation slightly and will begin the very very slow process to see if she is able to wake up.

"This could take a week or so. She's still on a ventilator and her oxygen is 50%, so it will be a long road.

"She's hanging in here still against all the odds and we remain hopeful that she can wake up when she's ready. As I say, it maybe a while yet. We'll keep you updated."
