The role requires someone passionate about Oakham, its community and wants to make a positive change. 

Oakham Town Council represents its community and aims to improve the quality of life for those living and working in the area. It hopes to raise the general wellbeing of the community and improve services that help local people. 

Becoming a town councillor means that you will have an impact on the decisions that affect everyday life, and you will represent your neighbors and advocate for the needs of local people. It will also involve taking a leadership position within your community, pushing initiatives for growth, sustainability and local well-being. Furthermore, this is an opportunity to gain experience working in local governance and public service as well as enabling you to give back to the town. 

The role is voluntary and will include Full Council Meetings with are normally held once a month on a Wednesday evening.
