Giles Clifton is one of four nominees hoping to take on the Uppingham Ward vacancy on the 5th of May 2022 during the local by-elections.

Giles is the Conservative candidate and hopes that his experience with rural communities and support from the Conservative members around him will help win him votes.

Lucy Stephenson, Rutland County Council Deputy Leader and Uppingham ward holder, said: "We are pleased to introduce Giles Clifton as our Conservative candidate for the forthcoming by – election in Uppingham. Giles has a background working for a major national agricultural association, ensuring that farmers and rural communities are heard. • a healthy community
  • a safer community
  • an accessible community
  • a thriving community Economy
  • an engaged community
  • a connected community.

Giles is practical and proactive; proud of people and proud of place. He will always listen and do everything he can to support Uppingham.
