Phil Bourqui is one of four nominees hoping to take on the Uppingham Ward vacancy on the 5th of May 2022 during the local by-election.

Phil is the Reform UK candidate and hopes that his desire to save his constituents money will win him votes.  This is the first time that Reform UK has ever contested an election in Rutland, and Phil wants urgently to bring fresh energy and fresh impetus to Council business.

In particular, Phil's constant clarion call is: "I want to save you money.

"Now that inflation is back, fuel and taxes are up and there's a full blown cost-of-living crisis, Rutland County Council ought to be saving us every penny that it can.  However, it has RAISED Council Tax by almost 5% this year AND is dipping into its reserves.

"Rutland County Council now levies the FOURTH HIGHEST Band D Council Tax in the whole of Great Britain, out of 362 separate local authorities.

"Why is this?  Why did County Councillors approve this budget by a majority of 20-3 when they met on 28 February?  And why is Central Government apparently not providing Rutland with as much financial support as it does for other Councils?

"I think this is an almighty shambles.  And if you think so too, vote for me PHIL BOURQUI at the Uppingham by-election on 5 May."
