Oakham yoga and pilates studio under new ownership

17th Dec 2019 | Local News

Oakham's dedicated yoga and pilates studio is under new ownership and being relaunched as 'Oak Om' in the new year.

In addition to bringing nine brand new, on top of the existing four, contracting job opportunities to the town for local teachers, the relaunch also provides space rental opportunities for local therapists.

Formerly known as the Hotbox Yoga Oakham, located behind Oakham Castle, the studio is now co-owned by yoga teacher Hanri van Wyk and studio manager Steve Ward.

The premises are currently undergoing improvements and renovations in order to enlarge the floor space, allowing us to offer a wider range of classes and workshops.

With new classes starting early January, the Mayor and Mayoress of Oakham will be officially relaunching the studio on 11 January at midday, when the studio will open its doors to the public for the afternoon.

Join us for a cup of herbal tea and some snacks and meet some of our new teachers - and also our studio dog Chunk.

The new name Oak Om is a play on words, incorporating the town name and the sacred sound 'Om' often used in yoga.

Our new classes include a variety of styles of yoga, pilates. tai chi, and beginners courses, and are starting up in early January.

With sustainability and community at the heart of the studio relaunch, we hope to bring more choice in wellbeing and health practices to the local Rutland community for the New Year.
