Parents receive primary school offers

By The Editor 26th Nov 2021

Oakham parents with children starting primary school in September 2019 have been receiving offers of school places this morning.

Of the 359 applications this year, 358 (99.7 per cent) have been offered a place at either their first or second choice school. Of these, 342 children (95 per cent) have received their first choice.

There were no third choice offers in this year's admissions round. Just one applicant had no preference met and received an offer from an alternative school, instead.

Speaking today - National Offer Day for children who are due to start primary school in September 2019 - Mark Andrews, Strategic Director for People services at Rutland County Council, said: "We hope that parents will be happy with the offers they've received from schools. As with last year, we've seen a very high proportion of first choice offers for primary school starters and there are no children without a school place."

Rutland parents and carers have 14 days to confirm if they wish to accept or decline the place they have been offered for September 2019.

Details of how to respond are included in the offer email or letter, while more information about school admissions is available online at: www.rutland.gov.uk/admissions.
