Residents of Great Casterton have objected to a planning proposal submitted by Stancliffe Homes.

The developers from Derbyshire are hoping to build 49 homes on Land Off College Close, Great Casterton.

However, signs have been put up in the village reading:

Say NO to Stancliffe Homes. We don't want more cars, more traffic, more congestion and more danger on our roads.

If successful the development would be home to bungalows and houses, ranging from 2 to 5 beds.

30% of the homes are listed as affordable, most through a shared ownership scheme.

An representation by one concerned objector says: "There is no benefit to the village and its community. The development has been poorly designed and not in keeping with its surround. It will stand alone as the most dense housing in the village, create traffic chaos, extend the village boundary at its highest point and will lead to a 25% increase in dwellings in the village which is not sustainable."

Others have highlighted that, because College Close is a cul-de-sac, the increase in traffic would be severely increased, which may be inappropriate for the road, location, and residents.

Many have highlighted that the proposal is not in-keeping with local aesthetic.

The Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board has suggested that the build would create over 100 new patients for local surgeries, which would require a further 3 hours of GP appointments per week.

As such, it was suggested that a developer contribution of £32,340 would be made towards healthcare at Lakeside Stamford or Glenside Country Practice.
