Royal Mail will be suspending their services nationwide as a mark of respect to HM on Monday the 19th of September 2022.
On Thursday the 8th of September, Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth II 'died peacefully at Balmoral'.
This prompted a mourning period observed by not only the nation, but the world, scheduled to run until seven days after the funeral.
It was announced this weekend, that the funeral will take place on Monday the 19th of September, with a bank holiday being declared by King Charles III.
Upon the release of this information, Royal Mail have announced that their services will be suspended on the day of the funeral.
This comes after a series of strikes that took place in August and September following pay disputes.
There were strikes planned on the 8th and 9th of August which, upon hearing of the death of HM, were cut short and cancelled.
