With the ongoing discussion surrounding 'Partygate', the Rutland and Melton MP Alicia Kearns has said that she lacks "confidence" in the PM.

Ms Kearns has stated that he was "complicit" in the parties that took place at No. 10 Downing Street and that his account of events was "misleading".

In a Facebook post, Ms Kearns said: "It is wrong that families were banned from saying goodbye to their dying loved ones, whilst the prime minister was complicit in the holding of many goodbye parties for his staff, which we now know displayed a complete disregard for restrictions and were complete with vomiting, fighting and bullying.

"I can only conclude that the Prime Minister's account of events to Parliament was misleading.

"If he did not know about the culture of parties, then this is because he failed to ask the questions necessary, or has chosen not to since last October.

"Those around him clearly did not advise a policy of being honest and transparent with the British people."

This comes as Boris Johnson has been accused of changing ministerial code to ensure that he does not have to resign. Under these changes, any breeches will result in an apology from the involved individuals and/or temporary pay loss.

Alicia Kearns concluded: "My position remains unchanged since January, and the prime minister continues not to hold my confidence."

It is thought that a vote of no confidence will take place if the required 54 letters from Conservative MPs are submitted.
