Today, Tuesday the 21st of June 2022, Liam and Tom open the doors to their brand new cheese shop in the heart of Oakham, The Rutland Cheese Co.

Previously known at the Two Guys Company, this duo are cheese pros and have a great selection on offer in their store, which has opened today near the Oakham level crossing.

As well as cheese, they stock crackers, cakes, snacks, chutneys, and 'free from' alternatives, such as gluten free scone mix and more.

Tom will soon begin making sandwiches for visitors to enjoy in the café or out on the sun terrace with a tea, coffee, or cold drink. Sun floods the terrace from noon onwards, so this really is destined to be a top local lunch spot.

On top of this, they have been loose tea specialists, and hope to bring this to their new store in the coming months too.

More of what we are all here for though, the cheeses on offer are varied and delicious, from their Smoked Wensleydale to Rutland Red, and Brie De Meaux.

Liam said: "I would recommend a Cornish Yarg, but all of the cheeses in stock are great and the variety means that there is something for everyone. We are also getting lots of new cheeses in all the time, so keep popping by and follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with the stock."

They can be found on Facebook here.

On top of this tasty supply of delicacies, visitors to the shop can also enjoy the company of the duo's delightful dog, Biggy.

Liam concluded: "We're a traditional cheese monger, so if you want a chat and to really get to know your cheese, let us know. We look forward to meeting you."

They are open now and can be found at Unit 3, 40 Melton Road, Oakham.

Rutland Cheese Co. café, now open!

The shop is near the train station and there is parking behind the building for those passing through, while the store itself is easily accessible by foot - so there really is no excuse to bypass this new local gem, now open and waiting to welcome you!
