Carers in Rutland are being asked to share their views on a new plan that will guide the support available to them locally.

Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have produced a joint Carers Strategy to support the development of carers' services and meet the needs of carers across each of their three areas. The current carers strategy is coming to an end and a revised draft Strategy for 2022-2025 has now been published for consultation.

A carer is someone who helps another person, usually a relative or friend, in their day-to-day life. This is not the same as someone who provides care professionally or through a voluntary organisation.

Information about the support currently available to Carers in Rutland can be found online. This includes details about carers assessments and financial support in the form of a 'Carers Allowance'.

The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland joint Carers Strategy consultation can be accessed online and closes at midnight on Sunday the 17th of July 2022.

Both the Strategy and consultation documents are available in alternative formats. Questions or comments can also be shared by emailing: [email protected] or calling: 01572 722 577.
