The Rutland First Responders logged an impressive 486 hours of responding time in February, the team attending to a range of cases across the county.

The Rutland Community First Responders are volunteers who give their time freely to help save lives in their community. Responders are everyday members of the general public who are trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillators and the treatment and control of a wide range of potentially life threatening conditions.

As a part of their commendable 486 hours undertaken in February, the team attended 69 jobs including:

  • falls
  • abdominal pains
  • chest pains
  • DIB
  • LOC
  • infections
  • strokes
  • seizures
  • cardiac arrests

The team said that "all of our skill sets were tested to the full."

Over 30 additional hours were spent training, at meetings, undertaking online sessions and giving CPR demonstrations.

This comes as the founder of Rutland First Responders received an MBE at Windsor Castle on 28 February, making it a busy month for Barbara Crellin.
