Rutland County Council has adopted a new Corporate Strategy setting out its priorities for the next five years (2022-2027).

The Corporate Strategy will guide everything the Council does across all its services. It lists a total of 25 commitments covering everything from sustainable development and carbon reduction, to reducing health inequalities and supporting vulnerable people.

The Corporate Strategy is directly linked to the results of the county's recent Future Rutland Conversation. Each of the Council's 25 commitments will help to achieve the aspirations that were voiced by residents throughout the Conversation and then captured in the final Future Rutland Vision.

The new Corporate Strategy explains how Rutland residents can help the Council to achieve each of its commitments over the next five years, and what the outcome will be if this is successful.

It also outlines how the Council will transform the way it works over the next five years to deliver effective and efficient services that are fit for the future

Councillor Lucy Stephenson, Leader of Rutland County Council, said: "Our Corporate Strategy sets out plainly and clearly what we, as a Council, aim to achieve. Most importantly, it's a direct response to what residents told us throughout the Future Rutland Conversation.

"Not only have we listened to what people said throughout this process, everything we heard has been used to create a Corporate Strategy that aims to deliver what is most important to our residents. The goals and commitments are there in black and white for everyone to see and will guide all that we do over the next five years."

As well as a series of clear commitments, the Corporate Strategy contains a Delivery Programme which covers the first two years from 2022-2024. It also lists all the policies (current and future) which will help the Council to achieve its aims.

The Corporate Strategy was approved and adopted by Rutland's Full Council on Monday the 4th of July 2022 and can be read online.
