Residents from Rutland and the surrounding areas can enjoy a varied selection of events this weekend.

Cultivate your gardening enthusiasm, learn about conservation and the local wildlife, or kick back and relax with some live music.

The Global BirdFair

From the 15th to the 17th of July 2022, Rutland Showground will host the Global BirdFair.

The fair celebrates wildlife and conservation and allows enthusiasts as well as first-time visitors to learn about local and national species - and much more!

The Global BirdFair aims to help Worldwide Nature Conservation and increase the awareness of wildlife to as many people as possible, including working towards making the event itself carbon neutral.

The fair will run from 9am to 5.30pm daily. Last admission is 4pm.

Belvoir Castle Flower and Garden Show

A little way from Oakham but well worth the drive is Belvoir Castle, who are hosting their annual Flower and Garden Show on the 16th and 17th of July 2022. 

This Show offers a weekend of colour and inspiration for those with a love of gardening, beginners, and families in search of a summer day out.

There will be:

• garden furniture
• crafts retailers
• food
• drinks
• live music

The Grainstore Open Mic Night

Rounding off the weekend, on Sunday the 17th of July, The Grainstore Brewery and Taprooms will be hosting their monthly open mic night from 5pm.

Head down early to enjoy some great pub food, brewed in-house beers, and to get your name on the list. Alternatively, enjoy some free live music as a spectator.
