Local Liberal Democrat Councillor Stephen Lambert is taking part in 'The Big June Prune' and will be shaving his head on Wednesday the 15th of June 2022 to raise much needed funds for Hospice UK.

Shortly after being elected in May of this year, Stephen was approached by a local group organising a hair shave in aid of Hospice UK.

Stephen Lambert said: "I really felt that I couldn't say no when the group organising 'The Big June Prune' approached me. The work that Hospice UK does to support those dealing with death and bereavement is so valuable, and I'm happy to be shaving my head in order to support them.

"Their recent 'Dying Matters Awareness Week' had a massive impact across the Country, with many people here in Uppingham also coming together to talk about the difficult subjects of death, dying and grief.

"It's a difficult time to be asking people for donations, but if anyone is in the position to donate, this is a great cause and any donation will make a huge different to the work of Hospice UK."

So far £85 of the £200 target has been raised.

Stephen is the Uppingham Ward Councillor at Rutland County Council. Find out more about him here or get in touch by emailing [email protected].
