PGRO are growers and researchers in the pea and bean industry, based just off of the A1 by Wansford, who specialise in crop research and development.

The team are currently looking for summer students to help with their pea and bean trials work. The position would suit outdoorsy people who like the idea of doing a practical job.

The position is a varied one, changing throughout the season, with some traditional harvesting and some more scientific work involved. All training will be provided and no prior experience in farm work or scientific trials is needed.

Pay will be £6.83 to £9.50 per hour, rising to between £10.25 and £14.25 for overtime, depending upon age. There will be plenty of opportunity to work at the overtime rate throughout the season.

Hours will be between 8.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday, with part and full-time flexibility.

The role will start on the 20th of June 2022 and will run throughout July and August.

This is a great job for school leavers or college and university students over the summer break, but is open to candidates of all ages (ideally 18+).

Roger Vickers, CEO of PGRO, said: "As the UK's centre of excellence for peas and beans, the PGRO has a long and highly valued track record of providing authoritative, up to date information and project work based on solid, reliable research.

"We are proud of our stability and consistency over the years. As a forward-looking organization, the PGRO team will continue to develop our services to the benefit of our levy payers as well as our research-based and commercial partners."
