Local residents and visitors are invited to join in the Rutland Day celebrations at Oakham Castle on Saturday 14 September between 10am and 4pm.

To celebrate, a family fun day is planned filled with activities, heritage and entertainment.

For example, The Ferrers Household will be hosting a Medieval re-enactment and games and Rutland Farm Park will be bringing their "funny" goats.

The event takes place between 10am and 4pm (Oakham Castle).

Visitors will also have the chance to chat with the Oakham Canal Project Team and listen to Rutland Choral Society who will be performing at 1pm and 2pm.

Rutland Morris will also be dancing at 11am before heading off on a walking tour and Root-and-Branch Out will be holding a 'wildflower seed ball' making workshop.
