Rutland Farm Park begin rehoming animals after closure
By Grace Kennington 21st Jun 2026
Following the sad news that Rutland Farm Park would be closing their gates after over a decade, the farm are now looking for new homes for some of their animals.
The farm park officially closed on Sunday 12 April as owners Julie and Clive have retired.
On the announcement of the closure, local people flooded the Facebook comments, thanking the family and volunteers for years of happy memories and family days out.
However, the time has come for the family to find new homes for some of their animals but they are keen to ensure they are going to a good home where they will be properly loved and cared for.
According to a Facebook post, the owners are 'looking for the very best homes, ideally with another petting farm, educational setting or families and individuals who can continue to give them plenty of love, attention and interaction with children where appropriate.'
'Some of the animals,' they go on to say, 'are now in their older years and deserve to enjoy their retirement with caring people who will cherish them as much as we have.
'Their welfare is our absolute priority, so finding the right home is far more important than finding a quick home.'
They are looking for loving homes for goats, sheep, alpacas, geese and cows (once they have been Tb tested).
Anyone that applies will need to have a County Parish Holding Number (CPH), which is issued by the UK government to recognise specific land or buildings used for agriculture or life stock.
Any potential homes will also be carefully considered to make sure they are suitable.
