Plans have been submitted to extend the Normanton Park Hotel by Rutland Water with a larger restaurant and ten extra rooms.
The application to Rutland County Council also includes a new bin/laundry store to the side on the hotel's 4388m2 site on Normanton Park Road, Normanton.
If approved, parking would also increase by 24 spaces from 40 to 64 at the 3-star hotel.
A report added that the ten extra lodges would add to an existing 8 letting rooms, which gained planning approval in 2007m and would be built at a 90-degree angle to them.
The restaurant extension would be "built to the highest standards and is much needed for the successful operation of the Hotel."
It continued: "The economic reason for the extension is compelling. Currently, this part of the Hotel seats around 50 covers, thus making it operationally very difficult.
"In addition, patrons spill out into the car park area in a slightly untidy fashion and this element of the application addresses both of these faults.
"Through the addition of the covers indicated on the plans, the restaurant becomes operationally effective, much more likely to succeed going into the future and hides the general paraphernalia of tables and chairs that extend out onto this area currently."
The report added materials to be used in the construction will be high quality, using ashlar stone sourced locally from the Ketton quarry.
Rutland Council has yet to determine the application.
