Ketton-based microbrewery Baker's Dozen Brewing Co have found recent success in a regional brewing competition.
Founded by Dean and Jill Baker in 2015, the brewery has won numerous awards over the last nine years, including recent victories at the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA) East Region's Cask keg competition.
At this competition, their session pale ale Acoustic Landlady picked up bronze medal. Their best-selling keg beer Undertow then won the Pale Ale category for the third year in a row.
On receiving the award, Head Brewer Dean said "I am absolutely delighted to have won three years on the trot with Undertow. It's a big favourite of ours so it's reassuring to know that our personal tastes are still hitting the mark with the wider audiences."
Their success did not end there. They then went on to win gold in the IPA category and were named overall winner of the competition with their 6% hazy IPA, 12 Second Panda.
Jill said: "It was thrilling to have our name called out as the overall winner! We had entered 12 Second Panda into the IPA category 2 years ago where we picked up silver.
"We made a couple of tweaks to the recipe that we thought would improve it and we were confident that we had a good enough beer on our hands to get it back in the competition and see how it faired against the best of the rest, but I don't think wither of us expected it to win overall champion."
The SIBA East Regional Director Ian Rydings handed out the awards. He said: "A huge well done to Baker's Dozen, who have taken home a string of awards in recent years and whose beers keep going from strength to strength."
All of their cask and keg gold medal winners now move forward to the National Competition which will be held in March 2025.
