Rutland has remained in the top spot in the list of counties with the greatest number of high grades once again.

Following on from 2024, this year Rutland has maintained its first-place position, coming in above Surrey to claim first place.

This year 41.2% of exam entries in Rutland were graded A or above, an increased from 40.6% last year and 34% pre-pandemic in 2019.

This will come as no surprise to some local people following the news that Rutland's Oakham School had a 99% pass-rate, well above national average.

Following Rutland, Surrey is in second place with 36% of entries getting grades A and A*, with Buckinghamshire coming in third with 34.2%.

The two locations in the UK with the lowest proportion of A and A* grades are Bedfordshire with 19.9% and the Isle of Wight with 17.6%.
