On Saturday 11 March, The Plough in Greetham hosted a birthday bash for three locals, including a raffle and auction that raised over £300 for the local Air Ambulance team.
The Rutland-based pub supported the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance with live music, a raffle, and birthday bash for three pub locals at the weekend.
The Air Ambulance, set up in 2002, are a group funded through charity work and donations who administer emergency care and transport patients to hospitals.
The Air Ambulance Service flies across the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, covering 3850 square miles.
They are well supported in the local area, in 2022 a local group of sailors coming together to raise over £1,000 for the organisation. Read more here.
Durning The Plough's fundraising efforts, birthday boys, Roly, Robin and Chris, enjoyed a homemade cake each, and live music from 'Greetham's Own' and 'Black Jack'.
The venue also hosted a raffle and auction, which combined raised £308.84. Further funds were raised in sealed donation tubs, the total of which will be counted upon collection.
The team said: "Thank you to everyone who came to our Birthday party and fundraiser on Saturday evening.
"We would like to say we raised a fabulous £308.84 from the raffle and teddy auction, plus what was put in the donation tubs, for Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance Base.
"Thank you to both bands for playing and Owen Taylor & Sons Ltd Butchers for donating raffle prizes."
In December the team also donated £85 with the help of their patrons to the National Military Working Dogs Memorial UK.
