Rutland Pumpkin Picking announces opening weekend ahead of spooky season
Rutland's pick your own pumpkin farm has announced its opening weekend ahead of the spooky season.
Located to the east of Rutland Water and south of Oakham, Rutland Pumpkin Picking in Brooke will be opening in mid-October ahead of Halloween.
Whether you like to carve your pumpkins, eat them, decorate them - or all three - residents can enjoy a day out suitable for the whole family head of Halloween.
The team said: "We look forward to welcoming you back to pick your own pumpkins at Rutland Pumpkins this October half term. We have eight varieties of pumpkins to choose from, there are delicious small pumpkins perfect for roasting and stuffing and big ones perfect for carving!
"We have acres of space for your children to run around. Please remember, the pumpkin patch is in a field - come prepared for mud and uneven ground. Please do not wander beyond the sign-posted and clearly laid out activity areas - it could be dangerous!"
Dogs cannot be accommodated at the site, so visitors are asked to leave their four-legged friends at home, and you should only touch the pumpkins that you intend on picking, and be sure to wash your chosen pumpkins when you get home.
Once carved, remember not to place your pumpkin where hedgehogs can access it. If you light your pumpkin, the candles can cause injury, while the flesh can be fatal to the endangered mammals.
Rutland Pumpkin Picking will be open from Saturday 14 until Sunday 29 October.
Opening times:
10am - 4pm
The pumpkin patch will be open from 10am - 1pm on the final day of trade.
