Rutland photographer Amanda Forman has achieved the distinction of becoming a 'qualified' professional member of the Guild of Photographers for her portfolio of family photography.

The highly regarded national photographic body inducts members who are committed to achieving the highest standards of professionalism for the benefit of their customers.

Becoming 'qualified' with the Guild involves a rigorous assessment process, and Amanda, through her business Amanda Forman Photography is now one of only 350 people in the country to have achieved it. She had to submit a large portfolio of images to be assessed – many of them shot in Rutland when permitted over the last year.

Amanda said: "I am delighted to have achieved this recognition, seeing it as a result of many years' experience and hard work as well as a reflection of my commitment to delivering the very best service to all my customers".

Steven and Lesley Thirsk, Directors of the Guild, said: "We are delighted that Amanda has achieved Qualified status. The Guild has very demanding standards, so this achievement reflects Amanda's commitment to her photography, as well as her ability. The judging is undertaken by a panel of industry experts from a variety of photography backgrounds, so Amanda should be very proud of this recognition".

Amanda lives in Barleythorpe with her husband, daughter and their two dogs. As well as family portraits she offers commercial, wedding and pet photography and is currently booking for bluebell micro photoshoots for families based in the area for £65. They will take place in Barnsdale Wood at the beginning of May.

She is also qualified with the Master Photographers Association for weddings at Licentiate level and for pets at Associate level.

The Guild website (www.photoguild.co.uk) lists members throughout the country who offer this commitment, along with advice on how to choose a photographer that will meet your needs.
