A section of South Street in Oakham town centre is to be closed to traffic next month.

The road closure - in front of the Tesco store - is to enable Severn Trent Water to carry out remedial works.

It is anticipated the section will be shut to traffic for two days, on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 July.

In the temporary road closure notice letter Rutland County Council Chief Executive Helen Briggs says: "The alternative route during the closure will be via the follow streets: New Street, Westgate, John Street, High Street, Mill Street and South Street.

"Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out."
