Luke Keegan, age 20, was sentenced to 15-months imprisonment following an incident at the Lord Burghley in Stamford.

Keegan was asked to leave the pub after 'mouthing off,' shouting 'the Keegans are ruling Stamford,' heard Lincoln Crown Court.

After multiple requests from staff to leave the pub, Keegan lashed out at a fellow customer, hitting him in the face with a glass. The staff and customers then removed Keegan from the pub and he was later arrested at his home in Stamford Walk in Stamford.

Keegan admitted to his part in the incident, with his lawyer, Neil Sands, said: "I accept on my client's behalf that this obviously passed the custody threshold – to suggest otherwise would be ridiculous."

However, he also went on to say "this is a young man with no previous convictions who is suitable for rehabilitation."

Keegan was sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment suspended for two years. He must complete 40 rehabilitation activity days, 12-month mental health treatment order and 6-month rehabilitation order.
