Two upcoming road closures in Oakham will impact railways crossings, likely causing congestion and delays.

There will be a closure on 4 October from 6am to 12, where Network Rail will be carrying out infrastructure works.

The diversion route will direct travel to cross at the crossing on Cold Overton Road.

Brooke Road will also be closed next to the train crossing from 8am on 12 October to 4pm on 14 October for road works for works carried out by Severn Trent Water.

The diversion in place will cover the B640 (Oakham High Street) and Balmoral Road to cross the crossing on Brooke Road.

Both these closures will limit traffic to only travelling over one railway crossing in Oakham, likely causing more congestion and delays, especially during busy periods.
