The Crown Tavern will be opening their doors to screen every match in the FIFA World Cup this football season, as well as hosting a range of FIFA competitions and sweepstakes where you could win big.

The Crown Tavern, based at the far end of Crown Walk in the centre of Oakham, is a popular venue for sports enthusiasts and those who love a good chat, affordable beer, and warm welcome.

The World Cup kicks off on Sunday the 20th of November at 4pm, with the last game scheduled for the 18th of December 2022.

On top of showing all of the games, landlady Lindsay and some of the regulars will be holding a Sweepstake, "Minute of the first goal" competition, World Cup Super 6 challenge, and a Crown Tavern World Cup Fantasy Group.

Sweepstake winnings will be £200 for 1st place, £100 for 2nd, and semi-finalists will get their £10 entry fee back.

Lindsay said: "Good luck to all and let's hope our lads do well!"
