The Grainstore Brewery and Tap has added yet another award to their extensive collection this month.

On 16 March, The Grainstore team attended the SIBA Awards in Liverpool, where they were recognised for the excellence of two of their popular beers.

At the SIBA Business Awards, which highlight the best beer businesses across the UK, the team saw success with their dark brew, Rutland Beast, and Nip.

Rutland Beast is a full bodied, ruby mahogany brew, with flavours of berries and roast malts, and a malty sweet aroma. Dark earthy brown in colour, it's fantastic flavours blend together to produce a mind blowing great beer.

Brewed using a combination of seven different malts and wheats, as well as three classic hop varieties, Rutland Beast is a true animal. Regarded as the 'Bigger Brother' of the Rutland Panther, the Beast is rarely spotted around these parts, but is a spectacular sight when seen.

First introduced into their range in 1997, Nip is a classic barley wine. The definition of the Nip suggests that it is drunk in small quantities and frequently. It contains flavours of raisin, pineapple, peardrops and toffee and is a dark amber brew.

Originally designed in the image of an Edwardian Gent (a reverse Toby Jug!) the artwork was reimagined in 2012 along with the rest of the range and now features the image of Tony Davis, the founding Director of the Grainstore Brewery.

The team said: "We couldn't be prouder to announce that Nip was awarded a Gold Medal in the Cask Imperial & Strong Beers 6.5% and over and Rutland Beast was awarded a Silver medal in its category."

Nip then went on to be awarded Overall Champion Cask Beer of 2023.

They concluded: "Bursting with pride and well done to the brewing team, a superb result."
