The Met Office has introduced an amber weather warning for Oakham and the whole of Rutland County as a lot of rain is expected to fall in a very short amount of time. This could potentially lead to flooding and difficult driving conditions in some areas.

Rutland Council posted on X saying: 'Some areas could see a lot of rain in a short time, increasing the risk of flooding. See our website for more information, as well as advice on preparing for severe weather.'

The council website contains information on protecting your home when there is a risk of flooding, what to do when your home or business does flood, advice on driving during dangerous weather and key contacts during emergencies.

The heavy rain is expected to continue until the early hours of tomorrow morning (Tuesday 24th September).
