A free live theatre performance that aims to educate families about the dangers of drinking too much will visit Oakham's Rutland County Museum in the new year.
The Human Story Theatre's production of 'Dry' is sponsored by Rutland's drug and alcohol support service Turning Point and is touring venues across the country.
The production features James and Ellen Wilson who find themselves indulging in one dinner party - and one bottle of wine - too many.
When conversation turns from light and amusing to sharp and accusatory, it may be time for them to rethink their alcohol intake.
Each one-hour performance is followed by a Q&A session with guest professionals from Turning Point and other organisations.
The Rutland Museum performances is being staged on Monday, 20 January starting at 7pm.
Councillor Alan Walters, Cabinet Member for Health at Rutland County Council, said: "The health risks associated with consuming too much alcohol are well known.
"We also have a number of established awareness events and initiatives like Dry January, which encourage people to think about their drinking habits – particularly after Christmas and New Year celebrations.
"This theatre production goes further by highlighting the human impact of excess alcohol consumption and the effects this can have on relationships with friends and family. It carries an important message and is well worth watching."
Dry is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.
Tickets for the production are free and can be booked online by clicking the red button below.
