Two men that were stopped and searched in Uppingham have been charged with the possession of drugs with the intent to distribute.

Rutland Police stopped a vehicle on Braunston Road in Uppingham and carried out a search where a man was searched and found to have drugs on his person.

Police then went on to search his home address where more deugs were found and a second man was arrested.

25-year-old Ronaldo Cani of King Street, Leicester, was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Xhezar Cani from Dairy Way, Kibworth Harcourt was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

Cani and Cani both appeared at Leicester Magistrates Court on Monday 8 December, where Ronaldo pleaded guilty and Xhezar did not enter a plea.

Both have been remanded in custody until their sentencing on 26 January 2026.
