Lovebirds looking for a unique way to woo their sweet-toothed Valentine this year have a brand new gift idea - a rose-shaped ice cream.

Central England Co-op is launching a box of four strawberry rose cones - strawberries and cream ice cream shaped like a rose with a cone crafted to look like the stem - in time for Valentine's Day.

The product is the first of its kind in the UK and will be available from Oakham's Braunstone Road store from Saturday (1 Feb), costing £2.

A Central England Co-op spokesman said: "The cones look and taste amazing and so much work has gone into making them look as close to a red rose as possible.

"Although it is still a little cold outside, this is a perfect gift for a loved one who likes flowers but also has a sweet tooth."
