Uppingham Town Partnership has announced that it will cease activities this year, after a decade of organising various town events, including the Annual Feast, shopping events, and local, community-led projects.

Following a very successful 'Town Feast Day', the Uppingham Town Partnership has decided that this would be an appropriate moment to announce that it would be winding up.

A spokesperson said: "We have been responsible for over 10 years of organising town activity, notably the Annual Feast and Christmas Shopping events and now feel it is time for others to step up to the plate and take these events forward. We feel sure that this will happen.

The group added that they would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved in their work over the last decade: "We are extremely grateful to those who have helped us in the past; committee members, sponsors, volunteers, Uppingham Town Council, Rutland County Council and many other organisations who have all worked together to create great Community events."

The decision was taken at a meeting of the partnership on Wednesday the 10th of August 2022.

Any remaining funds will be handed to Uppingham Town Council to use within the community as they think fit.
